Dark Skies

While we were on Lake Nyassa/Malawi we were blessed with some very dark skies. No light pollution and a late rising crescent moon gave us the chance to see the Milky Way in glorious detail. This combined with the fact I was able the find a setting on my camera with a very long exposure and large aperture meant I was able to capture some of this on ‘film’. 3. Fabulous. I have vivid memories of nights spent regularly n a mission 90km east of Lake Manyara in the early 1980s. With no artificial light visible anywhere, the sky was truly a sight to behold.
