T minus 120
Time to face the truth – this could be the last 120 days we ever spend in the UK! When we fly out to Tanzania we might not return…..
For those that know us personally this is probably a bit of a shock. However, you need to read on.
My contract is for two years and I hope will lead to a longer stay in Tanzania or elsewhere overseas.
Either way in two years we will fly back to Great Britain, but not necessarily the United Kingdom.
It all depends on the Scottish electorate. I sincerely hope they don’t vote for independence on 18th September. If they do then the UK will cease to exist.
For those who don’t know, the UK is a Union of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Historically it was the Kingdoms of Scotland and England that united (Wales having already been absorbed and Ireland added later).
It is officially the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Great Britain is a geographical term which describes the largest of the British Isles (Ireland being the smaller British Isle). Whatever the Scottish people decide to do will never change that fact.
In summary we WILL definitely be returning to Great Britain BUT might NEVER return to the United Kingdom.
True I never thought about that perspective!
Well you’ll be back to the UK!
